A grassfire surged through hilly terrain Tuesday afternoon in the eastern side of Dublin and threatened homes enough to force the evacuation of several hundred people.
The blaze broke out before 2 p.m., probably in a creek bed near Fallon and Tassajara roads near a newer section of town east of Interstate 580, and quickly burned at least 30 acres, officials reported.
